A Foto First
Just a brief note that on Saturday, September 17, 2011 I inadvertently completed a foto first: I think it was the first time ever that on the same day I shot 35mm, medium format, and large format (5×7). The fact that there’s a combo of 5×7 (which I only do occasionally) and 35mm (same infrequency) makes it even rarer. This was quite unintended. The main event was taking the Kowa/Six to Henry the stepson’s 5K run out in the countryside for some barn-and-rusty-bolts action, but when I got back and was cutting the lawn I encountered a new massive mushroom colony so I took out a new old Japanese 35mm SLR I was testing and shot the whole roll. Then, in another lens test, shot four 5x7s on my Ansco View Camera. I’ve processed the large and medium format film (not bad results) but yet to have done the 35mm–it’s so fussy to deal with such thin small film that I tend to put it off. Maybe tomorrow.
